We've Been Discovered

Wow, our fund raising effort has been picked up by the administrators of the Virgin fundraising website, and they've added an entry for our cause in their blog pages.

Vikki Starts to Crack the Whip

With less than 3 months left (yeah I know, it's ages yet), the more organised members of the group have started preparations. When I say the more organised members, I mean of course mean Vikki.

Obviously, in order to carry out the London to Brighton bike ride each member of the team actually requires a bycycle. And here's Vikki proudly showing off her brand new purchase, still factory shiny.

Not only that, but Vikki's soo keen she set down a proposed schedule of training distances to work towards over the coming months.

4th March20 Miles
18th March25 Miles
1st April30 Miles
29th April35 miles
13th May40 miles
26th MayClapham to Brighton

Some of the less organised members of the group (yeah, yeah) haven't even pumped up the tyres on their bicycle yet!!

And finally, here's a few comments from the lady herself.

The arrival of my gorgeous bike means kick starting the training!  I now have lycra, lights, baskets for ginger beer and cake and the will to get myself out there!  I am scheduling a training ride for anyone who wants to join me on Saturday, 3rd March - meeting at Richmond Train Station at 0930hours ... will aim for 20 miles round trip - potentially with a pub stop on the way ;-)  Just for a wee rest you understand!  Will let you know how this goes, xx

Live Life to the Full

An interesting video that our very own Vikki stumbled across, highlighting the fact that life is what you make you make.

Instead of sitting on your backside watching the TV all the time, get out there once in a while and enjoy yourself. Life is about what you make and the people you meet along the way. And a bicycle can be a wonderful method of getting into the outside and  making the most of it.
